Spiced Lamb Flatbread
Spiced Lamb Flatbread is Mediterranean home cooking, eaten at lunch and dinner. On the plate it is the dish at the centre. Below is what usually sits beside it, what it does and does not contain, and what else to cook once you have made it.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pizza dough
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1 onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 tomato
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1/3 cup chopped parsley
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lemon
- 1 tsp salt
How to cook it
- Heat the oven to 475F with a baking sheet inside.
- Finely chop the onion, garlic, tomato, and bell pepper, then mix them with the ground lamb, tomato paste, parsley, cumin, paprika, and salt into a spreadable paste.
- Divide the dough into four pieces and roll each very thin on a floured surface.
- Spread a thin, even layer of the lamb mixture over each round, all the way to the edges.
- Bake on the hot sheet until the edges are crisp and the meat is cooked, about 10 minutes.
- Squeeze lemon over the top and roll up each flatbread to eat.
