Dakgalbi Spicy Chicken Stir-Fry

Dakgalbi Spicy Chicken Stir-Fry is Korean home cooking, eaten at dinner. On the plate it is the dish at the centre. Below is what usually sits beside it, what it does and does not contain, and what else to cook once you have made it.

35 min Medium Dairy free

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup gochujang
  • 1 tbsp gochugaru
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 sweet potato
  • 4 cups green cabbage

  • 4 scallions
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil

How to cook it

  1. Whisk the gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and sugar into a marinade and toss with the bite-size chicken.
  2. Heat the neutral oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the diced sweet potato and cook 5 minutes to give it a head start.
  4. Add the marinated chicken and cook until it begins to brown, about 6 minutes.
  5. Add the cabbage and onion and stir-fry until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables soften, about 6 minutes.
  6. Finish with sesame oil and scallions and serve with rice.
