Caprese Sandwich
Caprese Sandwich is Italian home cooking, eaten at lunch. On the plate it is the dish at the centre. Below is what usually sits beside it, what it does and does not contain, and what else to cook once you have made it.
Ingredients

- 12 oz fresh mozzarella
- 3 tomatoes
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
How to cook it
- Cut the ciabatta into four pieces, split each, and drizzle the cut sides with olive oil.
- Layer the mozzarella, tomato, and basil on the bottom halves.
- Season with salt and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
- Close the sandwiches, press gently, and serve.

Caprese Sandwich takes about 10 minutes from a cold stove to the table, and the cooking itself is easy going. It is eaten at lunch. It is at its best in summer, which is when what goes into it is worth buying.
