Ingredients

  • 2 cups quark (or well-drained cottage cheese)
  • 1 cup mashed potato, cooked and cooled
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar, for dusting

How to cook it

  1. In a large bowl, mix the quark, mashed potato, egg, sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
  2. Stir in the flour and raisins until just combined into a thick, scoopable batter.
  3. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat and drop the batter in by the spoonful, flattening each into a small patty.
  4. Fry the patties for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Drain briefly on paper towels, dust generously with the powdered sugar, and serve warm.
